In April of 2009, despite LADB's adherence to industry standard security procedures, including the major Studios' Anti-Piracy requirements, LADB’s internal security system was breached by an individual who then attempted to distribute the stolen content via the Internet. Once discovered by our internal controls, our response was instant, comprehensive and successful because of the security procedures we had in place, including MPAA procedures and awareness training, physical security controls, and adherence to several Studios' Anti-Piracy practices. The LADB Security Team worked closely with the effected Studio, the FBI, and the MPAA which resulted in the successful apprehension and criminal conviction of the perpetrator.

Despite this successful resolution, the breach caused us to look beyond industry standard security procedures. We learned of another major studio that was updating their facilities to conform to a global information security standard known as ISO 27001. After some research, we began the process of updating our own systems and facilities to conform to this global standard and earn our ISO 27001 Certification. While working toward becoming fully ISO 27001 conformant, we learned of a global quality standard known as ISO 9001, to which we also began the process of conforming. LADB is now one of a very small percentage of companies—in any industry—to be both simultaneously ISO 27001 Certified and ISO 9001 Certified. We have gone to great lengths to achieve this distinction because the future of our industry relies upon vigilant protection of your content today. LADB is now in the process of acquiring a CDSA certification, with more news to come.
